Syntiant Internship

Syntiant is currently looking for an intern to work with their applications engineering group.  The initial task will involve benchmarking embedded devices on machine learning tasks.  The successful candidate will implement the MLPerf Tiny benchmarks on a variety of embedded platforms.  Candidates should be proficient in C/C++ programming on MCUs and embedded system debugging and familiar with machine learning.

Skills:

Embedded C/C++ programming experience

Python programming experience

Basic familiarity with machine learning.

Position Summary:

The intern designer will be responsible for the planning, design, and coordination of electrical infrastructure that supports communication, safety, and control systems within commercial buildings. This role focuses on systems operating typically under 600 volts, including fire alarm, security, access control, data/telecom, audio-visual, paging, and lighting control systems.

The designer will learn to develop detailed construction documents, one-line and riser diagrams, equipment layouts, and specifications in accordance with client requirements, industry codes (NEC, CEC, NFPA, ADA, Title-24, etc.), and jurisdictional standards. They will collaborate closely with architects, mechanical and structural engineers, contractors, and technology vendors to ensure seamless integration of low voltage systems with the building’s electrical and architectural design.

Intern Engineering in Irvine, CA – Parker Hannifin External Careers

Position Summary:

The Mechanical Engineering Intern will carry out engineering assignments concerned with the planning and design of mechanically functioning equipment and processes.  Responsible for monitoring production, installation, operation, maintenance, test and repair of mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and processes.

Strong computer and writing skills required. Prefer experience with Solidworks CAD and knowledge of manufacturing. “Hands on” skills encouraged. Assist Engineering department with on-going programs by completing engineering related tasks. Tasks may include CAD work, design and analysis, as well as hardware integration and testing. Assist in revising and creating process plans, standard work and other process documentation items.  Experience with test equipment is preferred, but not a requirement.  Looking for a hands-on team player. 

This will be a great opportunity to attain hands-on training, learn and collaborate with a great engineering team!  

Qualifications: 

  • Education:  Current student in a local college or university (must be enrolled) toward BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. Must have completed two years of courses in Mechanical Engineering; three years preferred. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better is preferred.   
  • Design of Electro-mechanical components/systems for the defense industry is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.  
  • Understanding of military specifications and environment desired, MIL-STD-100 preferred.  ASME Y14.5 standard desired.
  • Experience with test equipment a plus.  
    Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting working towards group goals. 
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.
  • Full-time availability (up to 40 hours) during the summer.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.”

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California, New York, Washington. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations.
 

The wage range for this role considers allowances for a number of factors, including but not limited to required experience, skill level, prior training, licensure/certifications, education, and other business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $14.85/hr. to $24.75/hour.

This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range:  $14.85/hr to $24.75/hr
  • No benefit plan eligibility
